Occupancy Permits
Occupying a HomeAn occupancy permit is required prior to moving into a dwelling.
- Apply in-person at the Customer Service counter in City Hall between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
- Only the intended occupant may apply for occupancy.
- $20 fee, payable at the time of application
- An occupancy permit cannot be issued if a Certificate of Compliance has not been issued, unless the property is sold "as is"
- If a property is sold "as is", and all safety violations are abated, a Conditional Occupancy Permit may be issued. The buyer must agree to correct all remaining violations.
- An occupancy permit cannot be issued if the household size exceeds the maximum occupancy level of the house.
