4. Farmer’s Market discussion
Grow provided brief overview of committee work:
survey has been sent to vendors; we will be asking both Taxing Districts for
their level of interest, knowing that operation will need to be financially
subsidized annually, and hope to make a decision on taxing district and
day/time of week by end of month; goal is to open in June. Gunnar Brown,
Ferguson Farmer’s Market Master, will be here shortly to answer questions.
A. Webster Wonderland. Mayor Welch
distributed 3-page update (see attached). Total cost was about $15,000 with 2
taxing districts contributing $5,000 each. Rich suggested a tree lighting
event at City Hall be reinstituted next year.
B. Web Site: Wylie updated status
of the business directory web site. Launch has been delayed by personal health
issues of a consultant, need to develop text, and refined expectations by the
committee. Web site launch is expected later this month.
Goals for FY2011
Welch initiated discussion regarding the year ahead, the charge of the BDC, and
any activities that may have budget implications for the FY2011 budget year.
