4. Website Update - Wylie narrowed down the selection down to 3 web designers for interviews. Welch stated that   they can discuss the 3 candidates at the next meeting. It was discussed that Boston Creative is no longer a Webster-based web designer.

5.  Holiday Season – Welch explained that the Committee recently met to discuss decorations and the 3 major districts have money budgeted for decorations.  Richards stated that she recently met with the subcommittee to discuss a theme.  She also mentioned that they had a “rehearsal” to install the decorations.  Welch stated that all of the decorations and theme will be city-wide and not limited to the districts.  She also added that the subcommittee program will meet next week.  White explained Yorkshire’s plans for decorations and Montgomery Bank wants to participate.  Welch said that she was putting together a calendar of holiday events.  Richards spoke about extending shopping hours for holiday shopping.  He requested that Downs allow cards to be placed on tables at Cyrano’s to advertise the extending shopping hours.  Welch mentioned her plans to work on a marketing plan for holiday hours.

6.  Old Webster & Old Orchard Parking Studies – Wylie stated that the two studies were recently completed and presented to the Council this week.  He stated that the parking problems were not widespread but localized.  He added that many options were presented and a council workshop was the next step in addressing the parking issues in both districts.  Welch agreed.

7.  Farmers’ Market – Wylie stated that Grow researched local markets and he stated that it works but wanted the Commission’s response.  He added that Straub’s uses their parking lots for other Farmers’ Markets in the area.  Discussion expressed overall support among the Commission.  Welch noted that Roger recommended the Ross & Beruzzini parking lot as a possible site.  Downs expressed concern for Rogers Produce and how the Farmers’ Market might affect their business.  Wylie indicated that staff will continue to do more research on the subject.  The parking deck in Old Webster was discussed as a possible site.  The Commission also discussed a possible day/night that would not conflict with other local market days/nights.
