Crime Log Update

The entire metropolitan area is experiencing increased auto thefts and thefts from vehicles and garages.  Many of the vehicle thefts occur when keys are left inside the car.  The vast majority of thefts are occurring from unlocked vehicles.  Keep your property safe and assist the police department by securing your vehicle and removing all valuable items.  A key should never be left in any vehicle - locked or unlocked.

On 03-30-2020 at 1:49 PM a theft was reported in the 1000 block of Kuhlman Lane.  The victim reported that at about 1:30 PM their neighbor had witnessed a heavily tattooed white male with short hair and wearing a black and grey basketball style jersey steal a package from their front porch.  The package contained household items valued at approximately $35.  The male subject was seen leaving the area in a grey colored sedan of unknown make and model.

On 04-03-2020 at 1:00 PM a theft was reported in the 400 block of Corona Ct.  The victim reported that an 8’ x 4’ black Road Runner flat bed trailer had been stolen from their driveway between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  Also missing were two mowers and a weed eater that had been on the trailer.

On 04-03-2020 at 2:21 PM a fraud was reported in the 100 block of W. Lockwood Ave.  The victim reported that someone had created counterfeit checks in the name of their business and had forged their name to cash them at several different banks.

On 04-04-2020 at 6:59 AM a theft was reported in the first block of Villawood Ln.  The victim reported that sometime overnight, someone had stolen their 2004 white Jeep Grand Cherokee from the driveway.  The Jeep had been left unlocked with the keys inside it.

During the week of 03-30-2020 through 04-05-2020, the Police Department responded to 435 calls for service, 3 auto accidents, 11 alarms and assisted the Fire Department 31 times.
